Im looking for a PhD program

Recovered historical discussion from Im looking for a PhD program.

Hi all, After years of just having an interest in physics I am actually contemplating about starting a PhD in Physics probably in BioPhysics. I was wondering if you have any suggestions within a commutable distance of NJ. Hah ... yeah ... that is what I was thinking. Although I am not sure I have the grades. But top on my list.

A lot of colleges are offering their courses online for free. No degree for free. They offer them online for pay too if you want a degree. I have been taking some from M.I.T. They were the first. But a number are doing it now. It's video lectures and course materials. Forums for online students to commiserate when they don't understand something.

I feel very obligated to point out that online courses can be dangerous. Very... dangerous. Mostly with For-Profit schools. If a person is considering attending a college online, you must be very thorough in checking that they are accredited and examine their reviews most critically. Reading this page for a while may curl your hair.
